After School Care - 'ASC'
The School offers an after school care service that is run by our After School Care Manager and Teaching Assistants. It is available every afternoon between 3.55 - 6.00pm.
During after school care, Junior students are offered a dedicated space to do any homework, to take part in a wide range of supervised activities or just relax until 6pm. A light tea is provided for Juniors between 4.30pm and 6pm. After school sessions for Juniors are charged at £6.25 up to 4.30pm or £9.35 up to 6pm.
If any pupil is not collected by 4pm at the end of the school day, they will be escorted into After School Care.

Bookings:
In addition to regular bookings, boys are permitted to join Owls on a daily basis, and we ask that a telephone request is made before 9.30am. To enable us to plan food effectively, please ensure you cancel a prior booking before 10.30am by contacting the Juniors Office on the day in question.
Please direct any contact regarding after school care bookings to wjoffice@wgsf.net rather than contacting the form teacher or a specific member of staff. This is to ensure that any correspondence is picked up and dealt with quickly.

After School Care Fees:
Year 3 - Year 6:
Session until 4.30pm - £6.40
Session until 6.00pm - £9.50 (includes light tea)
If a child attends After School Care for more than 15 minutes after an after-school club, a charge of £3 will be made. The first 15 minutes after an after-school club is free.
After School Clubs and Fixtures:
If your daughter is to attend After School Care after a club or fixture, the member of staff leading the club/fixture will ensure that she is taken into After School Care after the club/fixture has finished.
Parents collecting pupils either from clubs or from After School Care can collect children from the Junior School playground from 4:15pm onwards, each afternoon.
Additional Information:
In addition to the above information, may we please stress a number of points to ensure After School Care runs smoothly and the safeguarding needs of all pupils are met:
- Please remember to contact the school if your plans have changed and your child will no longer attend After School Care on a given day.
- If your child was expected in ASC but is collected at the end of school, please go into ASC to make staff aware as this causes problems for staff having to phone home to chase up absent pupils.
- If your child attends a club after school and is expected in ASC on that day, staff will expect them to attend ASC after the club has finished. If they are taken home immediately after the club, please contact ASC to make staff aware.
- If an adult other than the usual parent (e.g. grandparent, aunt/uncle) is due to collect your child from ASC, please ensure they are aware of the password you have given at the start of the year. You will receive a request via email for you to submit a password.
- Please be mindful that after school care staff often have their own children to attend to or other commitments after 6pm and parents arriving late to pick their child up can have a significant consequence for the after school care member of staff on duty. Thank you for your understanding and support in this matter.
